My name is Gunnar Sales. I’m a happy,fun ,passionate and hard-working outdoorsman who’s been fishing my entire life. Growing up, my father brought us everywhere. That means spending a lot of time along creeks and rivers, learning how to fish and love the land from a young age.
Some of my most treasured memories are with my grandfather, who would take us fishing up northevery year . Every morning, even after spending hours on the water, my brother and I would grab our rods instantly and head out exploring and fishing the shorelines. For 5 days straight, only ever returning for food and more fishing lures 😇
What started as casual fishing trips slowly turned into something more. We became obsessed with the idea of exploring the unknown. Fishing turned into detailed, planned fishing missions . Searching for the most pristine, untouched lakes we knew nobody else would dare to try reaching. The thought of 'what if' was always in the back of our minds: What if that lake has untouched fish? What if no one’s ever fished it before?whats if its loaded?
That sense of wonder and the thrill of conquering the unknown .Has fueled my passion for adventure for over 26 years. It's more than just fishing. It’s the challenge, the exploration, and the reward that keeps me coming back.
Throughout high school, I was also a committed athlete, winning the OFSAA wreslting Championships , i carried that same determination as my career when on. As a proud member of the Guelph Wrestling Team, I earned 4 Junior and Senior National titles All while finishing my apprenticeship in general machining.
Today, I’m proud to live full-time in Algoma, living the northern dream . As I continue to pursue my career in olympic wrestling. Well, helping coaching for the algoma university. Along with spending my time sharing my love for the outdoors with others.
Birch Lake Rentals is built on a simple idea: provide a clean, well-kept place where families and friends can unwind, enjoy the outdoors, and create lasting memories in the heart of the North.
